Where’s the White House on explaining Afghanistan?

Diligent’s Mike Barrett discusses the growing frustration with the lack of White House and National Security leadership on issues of policy in Afghanistan moving forward. Specifically, given the ongoing violence, is it worth staying there because of the future security issues in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran? If so, then the White House must lead a conversation with the American public about how and why the mission is worth the costs. Conversely, if it is no longer worth the costs, then we should depart now, not at a time that puts US troops at risk in the intervening months but is conveniently after the US election. Our soldiers in harm’s way deserve more. The link is available here:
